Iconic Chyna Entrance....
"That HUGE Woman!!!"....
Here is her iconic, Wonder Woman-Inspired look at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards (Back when wrestling, and MTV for that matter, still had some cultural relevancy). She introduced Xtina Aguilera with the first Survivor winner, Richard Hatch. During the presentation, they were doing some little comedy skit where she low-blowed him, but her left pants-leg split down the middle as she was doing it. I remember watching this live, I remember she played it off cool...
First women's Intercontinental Champion. She won it at No Mercy 99 by beating Jeff Jarret. He left the company afterwards, and she took on his manager, Stacy "The Kat" "Miss Kitty" Carter (Who, as you can see, would eventually start dressing like her).
First women to enter the Royal Rumble in 99 (Mark Henry....)
First women to compete in King Of The Ring in 99.
RIP.
The bottom line is that people paid money and tuned in to see Chyna perform. Can't say that for very many wrestlers, let along women-wrestlers. She was over and culturally-significant during a time when wrestling actually had mainstream appeal. It must be stated : They did her dirty by not giving her a HoF moment. Will likely dwell on that more in the other thread.
