Maybe if 50 displayed even the smallest amount of growth in his music his reign wouldn't have been shorter than leprechauns. I mean...we're only two months away from the 10 year anniversary of 'Ye essentially ending his career.

I'm sure there is a generation out there that don't even realise 50 used to be rapper.

Never was the biggest fan of Jay, but he definitely dropped the Death Certificate version of a grown man album. Anybody that can't appreciate what he's saying on the record is immature.

He didn't drop a Death Certificate version of anything breh....

I see where you're coming from but it's not even remotely comparable. 4:44 would have had to have been a masterpiece to merit comparison.

He was only "joking" in the sense that he was passive aggressively hating. At soul samples over drum beats being "golf music". 50's a 40 year old defenerate. He's literally his character in power.

I think it is a masterpiece though. Music is subjective so there will always be a difference in opinion. I'm an oldhead by Coli standards and like I said was never a huge Jay stan. I just always respected his verbiage but he chased the radio a little bit too much for my liking. I still think he's top 5 based on accomplishments and talent alone. This album though, this is grown man music. Especially if you came of age during the 90's and early 2G there was a certain sound, soulful but mainly dusty that defined that era. No I.D.'s work on this reminded me of it.

I compare the album to Death Certificate in that it's got folks all in their feelings. Jews, feminists, whites, young rappers aka buffoons, artists who portray themselves as CEOs and bosses etc.. Death Certificate had Jews, whites, Koreans and Asians in general by default, NWA fans, politicians, crossover rappers, etc., all in their feelings. Funny comes the sonning from Cube and Jay came from two different backgrounds. Cube being young, conscious, flirting heavy with the NOI, etc.. Jay being older, experienced, and knowledgeable.
