He's saying that modern HipHop artists put themselves/their brand before the music. Kanye is justthe example he use.

i feel what he's saying about groups. somewhere along the line it became only about solo rappers even though the majority of them aren't good enough to hold it down by themselves.

4-5 years ago if wayne, drake and nicki formed a group they could have taken over the fukkin world. they would all be even bigger than they are now.

Ye is more for the people then public enemy ever was. Flava flav is a c00n.

Kanyes music may seem self centered when I listen to it I think of myself , not him. That's how you inspire and empower people.

I respect Chuck for what he did for rap but this was all over the place
full
.

Nobody really wants to hear rap groups anymore and you'd be sharing the profit even though I know it's not all about money but

Guarantee you Chuck D and Kanye West love and admire each other.

Just like most hip hop fans love and admire both of them.

Media is always the enemy. Fight the "Power", get it?

:dahell: is he talking about..?

statement is all over the place.. :mindblown:

What I got out of this is he doesn't like how rap is now based on solo artists, I remember him making similar statements before, apparently he thinks real Hip-Hop comes from groups not solo artists.

Edit:

Yeah I found it, he thinks the essence of Black music is groups.

This is more on point than what I said. I gotta agree that people use hip hop as a stepping stone into other shyt which causes any random idiot admission into the culture and leads to a sharp decline in quality
