Jay is probably the most materialistic, empty message rapper of all time. Hilarious seeing him on chuck's list but no pac or krs.

Just heard Chuck speak on this and the way he broke it down was that he remembers when LL and Rakim first came out they was young as hell rockin shyt and shocking everybody with their mic presence and how they was rippin shows on stage n crowd response.

Rakim, of course had everybody trippin lyrically. Calm, laid back delivery was effortless on stage. But LL with that energy, the voice, the way the crowd responded to LL when they was all on tour even made Chuck a fan back then. He said just off Rakim and LL's stage performances PE went out and bought a bunch of knock off fat gold gold chains thinkin they could get that same type of crowd reaction.

But overall I'm guessing he got LL over Rakim. .Stage show, mic presence, energy, voice, etc. Based on how Chuck broke it down. Not album for album or straight up bars.
