PE at their best is the highest peak ever in hip hop. from making album statements on the level of marvin gayes whats going on and bringing that to hip hop. even from them being on radio first as personalities and disc jockeys, that sh!t is just appealing to me. like they had a manifesto way before they put out records. they were equally adept at being scholars and intellectuals as they were with music which is a combination not many have. most intellectuals are not musically gifted. i love cornel west but his attempts at musc are similar to glenn beck attempts at intellectual coherence. that why his message cant flourish. and some artists are really gifted musically like most rap now, but dont have the world view and wisdom of chuck.

like they were just this militant enterprise in a bunker somewhere just waiting to explode, it was more than music. they had a worldview that was subversive to the mainstream etc. and to put that into action with making the dopest music ever? sheeyeeetttt.
