The directions say to cook the noodles in 2 cups of water then remove them and then add the packet to the hot water, and then pour it over the noodles.

Real Ramen broth is made with bones and other ingredients and takes hours to make. It has a ton of flavor. They use fresh noodles not the dried ones in a pack. They aren't close to being similar so there's no point in referencing real ramen.

Ramen out the pack is just made in water. You don't need to have the noodles swimming if you don't want to.
