Separation of church and state in the United States - Wikipedia

"Separation of church and state" is paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson and used by others in expressing an understanding of the intent and function of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution which reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...

Article Six of the United States Constitution provides that "no religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States". Prior to the adoption of the Bill of Rights, this was the only mention of religion in the Constitution.

The first amendment to the US Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The two parts, known as the "establishment clause" and the "free exercise clause" respectively, form the textual basis for the Supreme Court's interpretations of the "separation of church and state" doctrine"

Separation of Church and State IS PART OF THE CONSITUTION

What a fukking idiot :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff:

Again your inability to think beyond a linear 2 dimensional plane is blocking your ability to understand the core points of the separation between church and state that were around far longer than the US constitution

We should tax the churches that way those taxes can go to help take care of all these children that people can't abort.

Churches don't want to do that though

Religious people how come you don't want that to happen?

NO. YOU DON'T WANT THAT. NOBODY WHO KNOWS TAX CODE DOES.

TAX CHURCHES AND TAKE AWAY THEIR 501C3 STATUS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Separation of church and state means no overlap between the two.

The highest court in the land ruling school staff can lead a prayer circle....is overlap between the two.

Never mind the fact that, yes, kids will feel forced to comply.

Let the whole class pray aside from 1-2 kids....you think they aren't going to be ostracized?

If the prayer recited is fundamentalist Christian in nature....you think children that practice other religions aren't going to be bullied?

Some of you cats need to take 5-10 minutes to analyze what you're saying before you hit Post Reply.

Fred.

christofacists know exactly what they're saying because it's the same thing they accuse muslims of doing.

What will happen?

MOST SOCIAL PROGRAMS ARE RAN BY A RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION AND FUNDED BY TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS. THIS EVENS THE PLAYING FIELD BY KEEPING THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF MIX. DO YOU REALLY WANT A REPUBLICAN GOVERNMENT SAYING WHERE MONEY GOES FOR THE WHOLE STATE?

THE CURRENT SETUP KEEPS THE SOCIAL PROGRAMS SECTION A BIT MORE HONEST. AND A BIT MORE EFFICIENT.

NOW IF YOU TAKE IT AWAY, CHARITY DONATIONS FREEZE OVERNIGHT. THAT MEANS NO MORE GOODWILL, SALVATION ARMY, ST JUDE, OR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY. ALL OF THESE PLACES PROVIDE ITEMS AND SERVICES TO LOW INCOME FOLKS.

The kinda of changes being made now are societal changes. In about 10 years time praying in schools, banning gays and abortions will be apart of American culture again. And 50 years from now when they try to go back to the way shyt was in 2021 people gone throw a fit talking bout people that vote for abortion rights and separation of church and state are evil :troll:

I’ve never taken seriously the separation of Church and State anyways

They’ve always allowed politicians to run on religious platforms…shoot even half the voting done in this country is in churches. The separation has only ever occurred when it was somebody’s beliefs people didnt want to see

Separation of Church and State is a Christian idea anyway, so I never fully got if this was a chicken or egg kinda thing.
