Was debating this with someone the other day and I was like Chris Webber easily. But then I checked the stats and their numbers and accolades are damn near identical. I still go with Webber for his offensive versatility and passing ability. But Amare was more dominant at his peak.

Amare was that dude but I don't understand this at his best he was better then C-Webb. Amare showed at his peak he was a 25-26 ppg scorer with about 9 rebounds to match. C-Webb was at 27 and 13 along with dropping 4 to 5 assists a night too and being more versatile. I'm going with Webber all day.
This is the part I don't get. How was Amare at his best so much better than Webber as so many posters say? As scorers they were about equal, with Webber having the higher ppg avg in their best year, and that was probably still with phoenix having a higher pace. And I would say Webber was the more versatile scorer, didn't need to be set up as often, and could actually run the offense through him. Plus he was a much better rebounder. Dude pretty much turned an also ran franchise into a perennial contender.

Feel like folks are really underrating CWebb on this one. Them monster dunks clouding some of yall judgement.

I'd take Webber, all around more skilled. I will say tho, folks do forgot how much Stoudemire improved his all around game after microfracture. Those Suns teams were fun to watch
Amare was a warrior. Every time after every injury he would always come back and produce..

He struck me as a guy that had tremendous determination..

I have to go Chris Webber tho it's tough :francis:. He was the better all around player

No offense but to me Amare has always been just a quicker version of Kevin Willis. Nothing more.

I remember this move he put on Duncan his rookie year.Somehow, the Suns made it into the playoffs that year.

Same year/series Marbury hit that "tear drop from heaven"(or some shyt like that) shot against SA.

But yeah.He got the ball, squared up, and blew right pass Duncan with the quickest first step I've ever seen a PF take. The shyt was "blink and you miss it" fast...not only that, but he had the style & grace to reverse dunk on the finish......Fresh outta high school.I said to myself right then "This guy is going to redefine the PF position:merchant:"

I thought his potential as a player was bananas.Personally, other than LeBron, I think he was the best basketball prospect in the last 15 years.Just his athleticism, skills, & explosivness. The first step...the way he could move like a SG.And he had that "dog" in him.He was just relentless and dirt strong around the basket....but then he also had the finesse. That's just me, tho:yeshrug:.....Fukking knees:francis:

Here's that play on Duncan right here.Old school clips, so it's blurry as fukk

That was greazy

Webber because his skillset could be a good fit in any team offense, and he was a better defender and rebounder than Stat.

Webber

better defender, better rebounder, better passer.

All Amare had over him was scoring.

But he also a guy who wants the ball late.
