:mjlol: All these ifs and what if’s. Get over it. None of that shyt was guaranteed to happen if CP goes to the Lakers. Y’all always bringing up LeBron and shyt that has nothing to do with him. Laker fans so spoiled (and I fukk with some of y’all) the one time y’all don’t get what you want it’s a conspiracy.

This. A way more likely scenario would be CP3 and Kobe clashing in the first year and them parting ways. Lakers swore Kobe+Nash+D12 was gonna dominate too.:flabbynsick: :russ:

Testament to Kobe's greatness the league had to pull some shady shyt to prevent him from loading up
They changed rules for against Shaq and Wilt. For Kobe, The league just straight up had to say NO.

The only reason I doubt this is that CP3 doesn't seem that convinced. He was there for the whole thing I'm sure some of that would ring a bell.

CP3 co-lead the best record in the league wit Harden, I’m sure he can play wit Kobe who he already was friends wit and had playin reps wit lol

Why u comparing prime CP3 to :flabbynsick: Nash? CP3 running a offense had a team wit De’Andre Jordan and Matt Barnes startin bein a top 5 offense in the league consistently

That makes sense.

only thing that would have stopped them running shyt was dwight’s back injury ruining his career.

plus having the money to sign any potential free agent is just absurd.

The thing is, Kobe was struggling with Dwight while Harden made it to the WCF with him. And, no, it wasn't all because of Dwight's health. We can't assume based off names and reputations.

Also, CP0 was in his choking prime back then.:lolbron:

the lakers had the best record in the nBA the 2nd half of the season with Kobe and Dwight. Yes, it was mostly because of Dwight's health and bytchassness and also Kobe/Pau/Nash all had injuries that made the first half a disaster.

Also with Cp3, MDA never gets hired. We most likely ride it out with Mike Brown handling the defense and Kobe/CP3 making the offense go.

Dwight only missed 6 games and averaged basically the same points and rebounds in the regular season with Houston the next year that he did with the Lakers. You're omitting that Dwight and Kobe clashed over how the offense needed to be run.

And that Kobe couldn't physically sustain that level of play from the second part of the season for a much longer period. It was like his last hurrah as an athlete.

Didn't watch the video but anybody that remembers that far back knows that's the real reason, not whatever shyt Jeannie was saying about it all being Demps not having approval

Yes, he needed them to agree since the league owned the Hornets but they put him in charge of finding the deal. He just so happened to accept the Lakers deal without them giving up Bynum, so they had Demps go to the table again and request Bynum so that LA couldn't force Orlando into a trade or sign Dwight with the freed up cap space after trading Bynum/Odom/Gasol

If it trade goes through and they sign Dwight, Kobe ends with more rings than MJ, CP isn't in PHX rn looking doughy still trying to get 1, LeBron's ring count is diminished and is looked at completely different, Kobe/that Laker squad probably has enough juice for some great games vs the Warriors early on. That veto changed the trajectory of NBA history

at the end of the day they were 28-12 in the 2nd half, best in the league. Doesn't matter what happens in the first half they clearly showed they could make it work once they stopped fighting and everyone was playing consistently. You say Dwight missed 6 games but Nash Pau and Kobe also fought injuries in the first half, on top of the MDA debacle which should've never happened.

And the only reason Kobe burned out physically was cuz he had to carry them to the playoffs. I doubt he's playing 47 MPG down the stretch while calling all the plays on offense if CP3 is there....

You have to watch 59:47 for the caveat. Gil said they’d have 30 mil in cap space with Kobe off the books :comeon: As if the Lakers were really going to toss him in the bushes to sign Bron and Melo.

That was my point though. This was also the biggest reason why the second half of the season they had such a record. It wasn't sustainable. Kobe burned himself out (played amazing basketball) for them to make it to the playoffs.
