North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
1. The president don't run shyt like that. The president gets too much credit for the good and the bad.

2. You can't compare a company to the fukking government :rudy:

3. Mathews like everyone else is caught up in the political aspect which includes votes and election cycles. Most voters are uninformed idots who only remember poloarizing events. Rebublicans are going to vote republican regardless.

4. And MAYBE Obama is tired of frontin. Maybe he's tired of the fake responses. If he didn't know he didn't know. He fired the director, what else do you expect him to do.

Matthews makes a good point about the perception that the president runs the government that is how those uninformed voters you mention see things...to them the president is in charge of all of the government and Obama is dropping the ball on the optics of these scandals by taking the stance that he isn't in control of the IRS or that he didn't know anything about anything until he read it in a newspaper or saw it on MSNBC.
He is setting himself up to become a lame duck before the year is up and that does him no good as far as his legacy and it screws over his party for the midterms.

:what: So what should he do? Say "Yeah I knew about it and I did nothing"? That would play better with the people?

No, taking blame amost never works in politics but repeatedly admitting that you have had no clue about any of this stuff until you saw it in the press isn't a good look either.

It's the best way to handle it.

It's not though because it makes it look like he is an insulated and ineffectual leader whether that is the case or not. People like to labor under the misconception that the president is on top of everything and using the being ignorant of the facts till the rest of the world found on on NBC Nightly News is not a good look.

I'm confused. So he shouldn't say he knew about it, but...he shouldn't say he didn't know about it? What are you saying?

Now you are just being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse.
This is not an either or situation...there has to be a happy balance between "it's all my fault" and "I didn't know jack shyt till I read it on HuffPo" or "My name is Bennet and I aint in it".
He is the president, he doesn't have the luxury of feigning ignorance and claiming that he is totally hands off of all issues that are outside of the Oval office.
