Whole thread just people arguing over whether AEW wants to challenge WWE or peacefully co-exist :mjlol:

I think they should avoid throne smashing spots and continue the "we are all one wrestling community" stance. Getting to do collabs like this with WWE shows are huge for the obviously less-exposed AEW.

Interview was cool. Jericho a scummy human being, but wrestling career wise I've always enjoyed how he has been creatively driven, and he's not afraid to step away or re-invent himself to keep his passion going. It also helped him stay relevant way past his prime physically.

This.

I think the stan war shyt that people do is corny anyway, and a lightweight version of tryin' to relive the Monday Night war...

When I was little, I watched every fed that had a show on TV. I liked WWF for what it was, liked NWA/WCW for what it was, liked Global for what it was, etc... the fact that they were all different was why I liked 'em all. People now act like you gotta hate or downplay one to like another.

Do you honestly think Jericho vs Owens was going to main event a Mania that had Lesnar vs Goldberg & Reigns vs Taker on it? That match was always going to be atleast the 3rd biggest match on that show no matter what they did in the build up & would have ended up 4th from the top of the card anyway after they shoved a random cool down match in there.

Yeah but I get what Jericho's take on it was as well... he was cool with it not headlining or whatever, but the match placement at Mania considering how their storyline had been the brightest spot on the show for months... it was months of work just to be placed in such a random spot. Even when I watched Mania that year, I thought it was an odd spot for them to put a match that had been built up so well. Even if it had opened the show, it would have made more sense because Vince usually opens Mania with a bang. The second match is usually something not as prominent as the main matches on the lineup.

Damn @ the night he won the Undisputed title.
WWE sure knows deflate your dreams smh
Rock was gone and probably landing in hollywood by the end of the PPV
Austin barely remembers it as a blip in his career
McMahon and Taker laughing at him and making sure he knows his BIG HISTORY MAKING NIGHT!!! is a joke and not to be taken seriously backstage...or on screen
Then the hotel "Championship dinner" floor pizza

I see why he feels like he didnt become himself until 2008
Jericho had a lot shyt to shovel frfr

Jericho should never have been put into that position. Even if he won both or either match clean, Jericho being the guy to unify instantly devalued the concept as a whole when the other 3 guys involved were Rock, Austin, and Angle.
How so? Rock and Austin and I guess Angle were made win or loss. This gave Jericho a great rub...something fans always complain WWE doesn't do enough for blossoming stars.

best take

I’ll add I also think all the throne smashing ridiculous shyt is full on Cody being vindictive. Whatever Jericho said in the past to sell the rivalry he clearly doesn’t give a shyt at this point, he doesn’t come off as a mark for the head to head like Cody does usually. Jericho still a piece of shyt tho.
