Any evidence that Christie actually knew about this? I know this is a far left Republicans-are-evil website, but any actual factual information that suggests he knew?

No conclusive proof yet. It's just more likely that he knew than that he didn't, considering these were his top aides, people with whom he was close and interacted on a daily basis, and not some low-level nobodies. It's also consistent with his personality. Not saying he did it, but it's not exactly far-fetched.

Can't say for sure whether he knew about it, but it does say a lot about Christie that his top aides (who work with him closely and presumably know him well) felt that he would be alright with this...

I also think it's suspicious that he has yet to even try to look into or acknowledge why his deputy chief-of-staff actually decided to do this. I mean the idea couldn't have just come out of thin air. Christie says it wasn't "political payback", but if that's the case then why exactly did they decide to do that, and who came up with the idea?

Seems like Christie would rather just fire people than actually investigate. Kinda suspect IMO.

Not the aspect of his care for NJ. Christie has demonstrated he actually gives a shyt about NJ.

Surprisingly, this won't affect any future run for president. This is how most conservatives view this regardless of right or wrong

I think it's less about that than his autocratic tendencies. Even if he didn't know about or cosign this himself, what he's done so far and his attitude indicates that he may have fostered that kind of a culture in his administration.

I can't lie...my respect for Chris Christie jumped upon hearing of this story. I mean, dude was willing to screw over thousands of people just to make a point. Right or wrong, you have to respect that. Dude is more gangsta than all the rappers in the NYC Tri-state area combined.

Crown this man Chris Corleone. But his presidency chances have taken a body shot to "the button" and he's on one knee trying to regain his balance.

Peace

It's wrap for him just in general. I don't know who is behind the starting of his downfall but it will get ugly and knowing his style he will take everyone with him.

Might be the Repubs or Dems, who knows.

Teabaggers aren't exactly defending him. He's got no conservative base to speak of.
You can't be a teabagger and get elected in deep blue NJ anyway (same with Romney). He'd be called a communist in Alabama or Mississippi.

Yeah but if I had to choose I call Dems because of his chance of running in 2016. He can be threat or it can be Repubs because he didn't back them with Rommeny. His attitude burned a lot of bridges when he needed to built them. I just want to know why now ya know.

Romney's transformation into a "severe conservative" during the GOP primary was borderline cartoonish.
It's funny because this behavior was more common with democrats trying to become "centrists".
Now you can win the presidency simply by running on the left, which was unthinkable 20 years ago. Democrats don't need to have southerners on the ticket either, the current electoral map has made the South irrelevant.
