This coming from the guy who defended the Obama administration using the IRS to target conservative groups.
But anyway, everyone involved in this scandal needs to lose their jobs and possibly face charges. But we have yet to see any proof that Christie knew of what took place.
I defended the administration targeting groups with "tea party" in the name for tax abuse, because they're named after a famous tax protest and many of them believe that taxes in general are theft, both of which put them at a significantly higher likelihood for tax fraud. That's not unreasonable or an abuse of power. Taxes are legitimate objects of governmental authority. Later, it came out that right wing groups were being targeted more broadly, which I never defended.
As for Christie, I agree that we don't have enough evidence for a conviction, but it's also unlikely that he was unaware of the activities of his top aids. I'm not certain he was involved, but I find it more likely than the scenario that puts him in the dark about the whole thing. It's also possible that this is part of a pattern of behavior, and he was aware of other instances of it but not this one.
