I'm somewhat laughing at the concept of a league who's players are overwhelmingly Black Americans, a group who is still largely marginalized in the "world's wealthiest nation" who's current head of state is a near unrepentant racialist are somehow excepted to be the cheerleaders for American democracy :russ::russ:

So tell the Chinese to come back in 27 years and collect their possession. Until that time, kick rocks. Thats not hard to understand and the people of HK should do as they please without Chinese interference for another 27 fukking years.

Chinese aren't doing anything except showing restraint.

China cannot "interfere" in HK since it's in the same country and it hasn't.

HK leadership caved on the extradition bill to these protesters which shows there
are still underlying issues ( cost of living + lack of job opportunities )

:mjlol: I thought Morey was smart? Why would you poke the Dragon when it's already pissed off when you doing business over there. This would be a better time to use burner accounts cause the Chinese gov don't give a fukk. This is not the US, breh.

This is their chance to make history, but they should stay silent and keep collecting checks if they want.

For example, I like Bron, and I understand that he's done a lot of our community, but I have to wonder what he's actually thinking in his silence. Is he thinking, 'I only really care about black issues, so whatever," the way you guys think he is, or is it more like, "if I say something, these Nike cacs are gonna be on my ass"? I'm more inclined to think it's the latter.

We can't read minds, so no one knows for sure, but I will say for now: if you've been using your platform up to this point to advance "wokeness", but you won't talk about China, you're most likely a coward and a fraud.
I knew Lebron was a fraud when he acted like he knew nothing about Tamir Rice who was killed in his own city.

Im torn on this. What if Hong Kong is like Texas or one of those crazy southern states when a democrat gets elected. I just don't know enough.

Whitlock is right about those talkative azz nba players are quiet as hell.

whitlock aint right about a fukking thing

Why is it the responsibility of nba players to speak about the political affairs of nation states? Or is your argument that you cant speak on one issue unless you speak on all?

Motherfukkers are really in here parroting a spineless c00n like Whitlock? Whitlock would throw you down a ditch if it mean he got to eat a bucket of biscuits and cuddle a white woman.....jesus christ

It makes perfect sense that NBA players are more knowledgeable about politics in their own country that they live in daily vs. the politics of what's going on in a foreign country that they don't even speak the language.

Right wingers really think they have something with this narrative that "nba players have no problem speaking out against Trump, but won't say anything about China"

No shyt :heh: most people weren't even aware of this china vs. Hong Kong shyt before Morey.

Well this is where the problem lies, you can't exactly tell them to kick rocks because they'll just strong arm HK. If China starts killing its own people openly then it's world war 3 if the g8 countries decide to intervene. Obviously this isn't a very easy decision when everyone has nuclear weapons technology. Heck they might just give Iran a nuclear weapon just to fukk with the US. It's funny how such a small spark can set a whole forest on fire. That's why in my opinion US needs to not mendle in Chinese politics no matter how much human rights violations you think China comits.

All this. Whitlock is arguably the biggest c00n in all of media.

Their chance to make history should have been when those Donald Sterling tapes emerged..
China ain’t got shyt to do with black peoples suffering in the USA..
I’m tired of black people having to carry the load for everybody and be Superman to every cause except for our own..
If we speak out against our own oppression..
We are called bigots and racist..
So why in the fukk should black men speak out for a country that doesn’t give two fukks about what they are going through..
In their own homeland..
With a President that calls them all kinds of names..
Save that “kumbaya” bullshyt..
Mainland China ain’t speaking out on the atrocities carried out on black Americans,Africans or any other dark melanated people across the world..

Why should they get involved in police brutality then? The difference is that money wasn't at stake.

If you want to be a player, be a player. If you want to speak out and play activist, then do it, even when the bag is on the line.

Anyone who won't talk about China harvesting organs and suppressing Hong Kong for fear of their pockets is nothing but a sell out.

I’m always having this debate on here, and it’s just a difference of perspective.

I also think it’s hypocritical for players to only speak out for black issues when brown people in south are being thrown into concentration camps at will. A human rights violation is a violation no matter what color the victim is. As a community, the Coli doesn’t agree with me, which is fine.

I find it hard to believe you are black. You are probably some racist cac/hispanic troll that only views black people as entertainers/athletes.

Any intelligent black person would not have said any of the dumb shyt in these quotes.

He might not be black...but it’s crazy that people like you on the internet expect all black people to act the same way. If you don’t have the hive mind mindset y’all automatically call them a cac. That’s why Russia was so effective during th 2016 election most was y’all was getting influenced by Russian trolls pages. Y’all so easily fooled by certain but words and viewpoints.

I don’t see how them 3 quotes prove he is not black. He basically saying if u gne protest protest for don’t halfway do it. Most celebrities use easy and obvious issues to gain “woke points” but in reality they basically pump faking when it comes to the bottom line. Just like how Nike took sides in the Kap situation because some certain people at Nike did they research and they concluded that standing with Kap made them more money. That’s a cop out saying athletes don’t know enough about China. Honestly they don’t know enough about race relations in America to speak on it. If we go by the way celebrities talk and tweet protest you would think that 1 in 10 black men was being mild and brutalized by the police. It’s a lot of problems with black people and if u name:the top 10 problems affecting us in America police brutality/killings is not in the top 10.

Y’all nikkas so easily fooled by fake wokeness..

You’re more likely to recruit support from others if it comes across like you care about universal civil issues rather than just black ones. Civil rights activists have actually known this for decades. I’m not really sure when this place came to the conclusion that we won’t need any allies at all to see changes, but it seems like a strange and ineffective mentality to me, and I’m not interested in being silent about that anymore.

Keep calling me names though I guess.

Your first sentence assumes that people genuinely want to support these athletes in their causes though. Most of the people dying for these guys to say something about China have already shown that they prefer for athletes to be silent about the injustices happening in America.
