i'm going to say this as i am a Canadian living in Hong Kong at the moment. First off the western media is distorting american's views on this whole situation. Im seeing this s*** in person for the past 4 months. They make it seem like all of HK is fighting for freedom when it is actually just a minority that actually wants this so called "freedom" and is causing chaos to the whole population. A lot of Hong kong locals actually just want this protest to stop and don't agree with what they are saying they are fighting for. They are also making themselves seem like victims while the police are the bad guys when in reality the "protestors" are the ones breaking the law therefore causing the police to arrest them.

These "protestors" (lol more like terrorists) basically saying they won't stop destroying the city unless their 5 demands are met and majority of these demands are not reasonable at all. Their first demand is they want everyone arrested to be released. You think that is possible? Rioters beating up cops with steel pipes, throwing petrol bombs and burning private property should be released? The fact they are saying they won't stop causing a destruction unless demands are met is already showing that they are threatening the public.

They say they want freedom of speech yet anyone who dare speak out and voice a difference in opinion will get beat up to near death (even the elderly). Plenty of videos on youtube of elderly shouting at the "protestors" and end up getting beat up by a mob holding hammers and steel pipes. They target stores and shops where the owner has voiced their opinion on the matter where they want the protest to stop. Where are these peoples freedom of speech then? Freedom of speech is a two way street. They target any stores with affiliation with mainland china even if they have not said anything against the protest. Isn't that basically racism and discrimination? Imagine rioters only targeting shops from a certain ethnicity in North America. They have also destroyed the main method of transportation (the MTR) by damaging all the machines and setting the entrances on fire. Where is the freedom of us normal residents to enjoy our weekend and travel around the city?

If you want to make an opinion on this matter maybe do a little more research on this topic not via western media and then come to a conclusion.

I don't understand your argument at all. So you're against Morey because he didn't speak out on any domestic issues and you're also down on Pop and Kerr because they did speak out on domestic issues but it didn't have financial consequences

Of course there are some people who are using this to their advantage to attack NBA even though they are against players/coaches speaking out on things they disagree with (Kaep/NFL)

But the point still stands that NBA handled this situation very poorly and shouldn't be defended just because some scumbags (Ted Cruz/Clay Travis) are using it to prop up their ideas.
