anyone who refers to a chimpanzee as a monkey is making a glaring misnomer that clues others in on your level of intelligence

at minimum you should know the difference between an ape and a monkey

Nothin probably happens to this cac but at least he deleted the comment and is scared right now.

I think there's a decent chance he's facing repercussions. Even if his bosses are racist, do they want someone on their staff who is so fukking stupid as to write racist social media messages in his own name with profession attached?

chimpanzee are apes not monkeys FYI
It’s called Nested hierarchies. Apes are monkeys in the same way that monkeys are primates, humans are apes and I am a human – it's called a nested hierarchy. This means that all apes are monkeys, but not all monkeys are apes. Just as all humans are apes, but not all apes are human.

Knowledge & intelligence are not the same

True. No one is stupid if they call a chimp a monkey, they're just poorly informed and that can happen to anyone, especially in a subject that isn't relevant to practical life. Or they might just be being colloquial and non-precise.

However...

This is false. Apes are not a nested hierarchy below monkeys, both apes and humans are in the same primate group and separate from monkeys. You can colloquially call an ape a monkey, but there's no scientific validity in calling an ape a monkey unless you call humans "monkeys" too.

Exact same muscle structure as humans
Biceps, triceps, delts, traps, lats.

Yup, but muscle fibers some 40% stronger than ours, greater muscle mass for their size, and far less weight in the legs and torso, so pound-for-pound they are much stronger.

Apes aren't monkeys at all.
