It's "normal" but we we were never taught that it was normal. Most herbivores aren't obligative so they'll catch an occasional body for food if it's available.

sheesh...my instincts were always right about chimpanzees ever since I was 5 years old and went to go live in Guinea conakry. one of my relatives thought it would be a good idea to bring a chimpanzee to our compound. I don't know if it was his pet or not but I didn't stick around to find out. I went straight inside the house and room, shut the door didn't come out until he left.
