I watched that Jamie Oliver TV show. Going up against public school administration and managers and employees and students was always an uphill battle. They want their junk food and french fries and the cafeteria workers wanted to serve it. No one wanted to change the status quo. It was cheaper and easier to feed them less healthy food.
That's too bad because he was promoting healthy food, not vegan or gluten-free or whatever fad diets. He was not just in high school but elementary schools.

It's always the easiest route unfortunately.

That's the worst thing about it all. Before he got on the health food wave i used to love Jamie Oliver when I was in high school, he made easy tasty food i could recreate at home and all he did was translate that into a movement...

americans gonna america though :yeshrug:

Honestly seeing Jamie Oliver get let down by american children is a strange combination of sad and depressing, :russ: .

I don't understand the backlash against him and Michelle Obama for wanting to improve our food culture, tbh.

There is no backlash. The "faux" outrage is all monsanto and meat industry bullshyt propaganda.

I thought it had been common knowledge that most fast-food restaurants use the scraps of the chicken for their cheaper products..
Im sure most are aware but don't give a fukk, as demonstrated in the video. Sure they were children, but be honest with yourself: Most adults use the same mentality. "Iont give a fukk, taste good to me :manny:"

when people show you the truth, you can't pretend to be dumb anymore.

all you can do is ":lupe: oh my gosh" and try to save face.

Yeah man feel great, lots of energy.
Went vegetarian because if we had to fend for our own food I wouldn't be able to kill a cow/chicken and skim it ect. I would get sick to my stomach lol. I'd have a garden of fruits and veggies instead
I cut back on dairy because I feel so much better from energy to mental alertness ect.. Don't knock people who eat meat in general, but I will knock someone eating some fast food shyt :skip:
sohh what do you do for protein?

Since you don't use diary. I imagine your diet consist of nuts, beans, etc...

Doesn't France have regulations against doing shyt like this though. McDonalds in Europe =/ America...
You talking about pink slime ? Yes it's forbidden in Europe fortunately. Well at least, banned for human consumption at least.

But Mc Donald's is the biggest restaurant chains in France and they open up news restaurants everytime. We love them here (I also do :sadcam:)

Nahhhh, like @unit321 stated there was a lot of institutional backlash from everyone; especially the students eating it! No surprise there, they want junk food.

You guys are cool, like I stated earlier I don't knock McDonalds at all. It's a different genre when you cross the border. It's just that in America we have some super lax ass regulations, but people abroad probably pay a lil bit higher prices than we do...

But that's all I really ask of fast food giants. Raise their prices and do what's right for human consumption, instead of cutting corners for competitive edges.

Had some Wendy's chicken nuggets last night. :yeshrug:

I wasn't under any illusion that they're super healthy, but in terms of fat/cholesterol/etc, there are less healthy things you could eat.

I'm not going to lie and say I am a health food advocate. I eat processed chicken entrees at fast food restaurants.
It's just when you are in high school, that's a good time to not give kids the option to eat junk food. Not to be a jerk, but there are more fat azz mo fo's in Little League now than when I played back in the day. We had one fat kid in the league. Now, all teams in a league have more than one obese kid. I really can't diss that one fat kid because my batting average was worse than his. :sadbron: Man, I sucked.
