I just saw the video. It was unnecessary to shoot him. He wasn't coming at them at all. All of them could have used force to make him drop the knife and cuff him instead of shooting him.He had a knife, not a gun, so they shouldn't have been afraid.
I have questions though, did he really have a knife and was he really stealing from cars and slashing tires like they said?

I'm hearing the officers had 86 minutes of footage deleted, can't really trust them at all.
We've seen this scenario play out too many times. I can understand why people would feel disheartened.

It's a fukked up situation, I don't know but there will be some blood spilled.
Two things...
1. The kid was clearly tripping and had a deadly weapon. But he wasn't life threatening to the cops. I understand being caution because I wouldn't want to get stabbed up either. They should have tased him, this is exactly what it's made for. If that was a civilian that shot him it would be 100% murder. So it should be no different for the cop.
2. We need to be aware that anything that can be perceived as a "threat" is now a death sentence with cops. It's sad that it's come to this but we gotta face reality with these types of situations. We gotta be extremely careful with these cops, our lives literally depend on it.

Not sure if this was covered yet, but the video definitely shows his anger towards Laquan McDonald(Relax in Paradise). to me it show the officer getting out, and automatically training his weapon on to Laquan. it does show a metallic or reflective item in Laquan's right hand, but the distance between him and the officer was too far for them to not all back out of the way without discharging their firearm.
Why not use the stun gun?
I wonder what's this officer history? I'm assuming this isn't his first quick-escalation of force incident.

They were all for playing the side of the cops when the riots damn near broke out (back during Freddie Gray and Furgason) and now they're trying to side with the victim. in this current situation. but it took several victims before it truly became an issue for them (CNN). news industry sick
