A single mom could be be doing all the right things, fighting to keep a roof over her families head, etc...and your child slips into the wrong crowd. Some kids are followers and impressionable. No matter what....that's just the way they're wired. Once your child reaches 15/16, specifically a male, fukk you gonna do...put the beats on him 24/7. That's not realistic either. U put hands on your child, and they still dip off...then what?

I did a paper in college on it but basically when you can start in the hood, go a couple miles and end up in a affluent neighborhood (or at least much nicer) from a young age that breeds a feeling of nihilism like no other. Couple that with the unfortunate experience of ya mama being poverty, her mama being poverty and so on eventually some nikkas be like enough is enough and go and get theres by any means.
I spent my teen years in chicago/ford heights after growing up in a okayish part of chicago (114th homewood) and I was thisclose to being a crash dummy till my moms sent me to live with my pops up here. And I was raised right and still bout to go slice some nikkas up for fukking with me at the park. The city just demonic breh, yeah its some outliers, I used to have homies in hyde park when I came back to live up here before I left for basic and that was a chill environment.

Nikka I got sent to prison for a robbery that I didn’t even commit in Chicago and did 2 1/2 yrs for it, but that shyt didn’t change my overall perspective of the city
