I shouldn't place all the blame on the mayor, but there was a recent shooting where my Dad's cousin ended up dying. Him and 2 dudes where shooting up a house, somebody shot back and killed the cousin. The other 2 shooters were caught, but let out of jail. A lot of these dudes be let off easy

But it is poverty. Crime has a direct correlation to poverty. This is what happens when you herd a bunch of poor people into overpacked areas with limited resources, little to no jobs, no education prospects, no trade prospects, and easy access to drugs and guns. It's a system that's working how it was designed to work. I feel very uncomfortable seeing people on the Coli make posts like this, insinuating that this MUST be something else...perhaps the moral failings of "our people." In reality these people are stuck in a trap.

Poverty ain't an excuse. There's millions of people in poverty and a lot aren't committing crimes.


And as I said a long time ago, I'll keep repeating it, a lot of these folks ain't jacking to put food on the table. These are folks as young as 15, no older than 22. They steal cars to joyride and commit other crimes. They rob yo shoes and jewelry to wear it.
