I don't disagree about Lightfoot. But the gun violence of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s pretty much puts to bed any notion that she's the cause of the violence, or that's exacerbated it in any meaningful way. Schools have a "low risk" in the experiments that were shown - but for the most part, these were not real-world conditions - it was wealthy suburban school districts with cohorts of 11-20 kids, incredibly low student to teacher ratios, and low rates of public transportation use. Its an entirely different thing when you have a huge chunk of at-risk students travelling to neighborhood schools and across town to magnet and charter schools, 20-40 per classroom, with high student to teacher ratios, largely walking or taking public transportation, a huge chunk of which live with at-risk family members, with "essential worker" parents.

And I agree with your last point - but if the state and federal governments are going to seriously invest in educational and recreational alternatives for students, better housing options, mental health services, and legitimate gang deterrent programs - or even look into geographic redesign robust job programs - nothing will change.

You're going to have to face the reality that a lot of these kids don't give a fck about none of that shyt.. Some of these kids come from a long lineage of ain't shyt stock.. So even if you pour all of these resources into these kids, their aint shyt environment they come from will uproot everything invested into that child..

We're at the point you'll have to fix the child and the parent to get this shyt right..

it is breh.. just like these nikkas understand that if you carjack a fast car, CPD has been instructed not to chase them.. These people you're passionately protecting, are actually taking advantage of a situation..

Memphis is worse then it's ever been. They had 323 homicides last year when before that their all time high was 223

I can’t speak for Harvey but Chicago Heights will never be fully Mexican honestly it’s still the same as in the early 2000s the Mexicans are at the hill and by Washington school black people are in beacon hill and the east side and if you doing well for yourself in Serena hills and everywhere else in the Heights it’s a mixture of black and Mexican people other than by Marian and prairie state where it’s still a lot of cacs
