A group of black kids in Chicago empowering other people in their neighborhood that never gets posted in here, for some reason- that are actually talking and organizing. Raising money for kids in under-resourced neighborhoods to deter them from crime, and use for educational exploration. But some people on this thread said Chicago kids and adults in the community don’t care -

In all seriousness though, know what else would greatly aid the efforts of these kind of groups? Putting more pressure on the gov to invest in alleviating the socio-economic factors that lead to broken communities. But I guess it's easier to just shyt on those communities and black people as a whole, and be obtuse about the causes and what is actually being done, and what more can be done.

From what I’ve read the lead based hypothesis is more used to explain the crime rates of the 70’s-90’s and crime rate drops into the 21st century. The country has moved away from lead based petroleum.
I also think the issue is much deeper than lead and even back in those days crime didn’t increase just because of lead. For my city specifically it was the perfect mix of factors that led to the insane murder rates of the 70’s-90’s and I’m sure it was those same factors nationwide.

Years ago, the family moved into a building in South Shore with old lead pipes, I ended up with Crohn's Disease. I hated the taste of the water there when we first moved in.

U think I don’t know this? I grew up in a Section 8 apartment with cockroaches, rats, and molded damp lead based walls.
