Chicago is a big city that's why it isn't the per capita murder capital but it is the murder capital and face of these issues for a reason

Of those cities posted, Detroit is ranked 18th and Chicago has 3x plus it's population so of course it's numbers are gonna be higher since less people means a higher percentage when calculating crime. Plus with Chicago it's not the entire city as a whole but just one area from what I've heard, that has all or most of the crime happening. Same with every large major city. It's just that one area that makes it seem like Chicago is bad when it really isn't overall. A contributing factor now is social media and how people glorify their city and those crimes. I know the gang culture is big in Chicago as well, which means that things like that get more attention especially when the crime is something you constantly hear about in Chicago. Chicago has like 2.5 million people, not everyone is involved or affected by crime. But since it is the third largest city, it gets more attention. They should break it down by areas cuz I'm sure that every major city might have a few bad sections but not the entire city overall.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Chicago AA's. It pisses me off that people act like Philly, Detroit, Oakland, Richmond, and other cities don't deal with gun violence. They blame the AA citizens of Chicago for shootings that are caused by poor living conditions, systemic racism, and PTSD. Chicago has some of the best food in the world, some of the best art in the world, it's a business hub for both coasts, a historic black city, and I've never heard anybody say they didn't like visiting Chicago.

The Chicago slander, which is low key racist, needs to stop. There are bigger problems to deal with. Gun control doesn't resolve racism and neither does victim blaming.

Nazis are making a come back, Trump is president, racism is on the rise, and people would rather eat their own children than focus on the real enemy.

Man ain't no nazi's in Chicago like that. Not in enough numbers to effect things like you portray. People talk about Chicago because at one time it was one of the greatest cities in the world. It's also one of the largest, so even tho the rates might not be as high, the raw numbers are eye popping. Show me another city with 70+ shootings in a weekend.

There's victim blaming and there's victim coddling. If its already a well accepted fact that there are traps set out for you and you spend 60 years with multiple generations falling for the same trap over and over you gotta call that shyt out. Medicine isn't supposed to taste good.

And all those cities listed that are more dangerous than Chicago are all Democrat controlled. It's almost like they've figured out that keeping the populace uneducated, malnourished, broke, and terrified keeps the votes coming in steady.

In fact it's like those cacs that live in rural bumfukk America who live in 19th century level poverty but continue to vote Republican because they're terrified of black people they only see on tv

Well said, I agree. My point is similar to yours, Chicago is a large and historical city. Other things happen in the city besides shootings and the focus on the violence takes away from productive things going on in the city. Perspective my friend, facts are facts, but the spin people put on Chicago news isn't productive.

Facts dont care about feelings. Now if the media was lying about the amount of murders you'd have a point. But you cant get mad at someone telling the truth, regardless of their perceived agenda.

The black community has taken on some real feminine characteristics where we cant even be told the truth without immediately getting defensive.

I learned as a youngin that you cant get better at anything if you only focus on what you're doing right and ignoring your shortcomings.

But what happens when u scream the building is on fire but the only response you get is "hey those buildings over there are on fire too, why are you just picking on this building", and they proceed to do nothing... everybody dies
