Better list than the last one I seen where Seattle was considered one of the best places for BBQ, but this list has Texas completely wrong. Houston isn't known for BBQ. Austin is. In no way is Houston several spots better than Austin in BBQ.

Chicago's South Shore
I always at bbq sparingly. Never had a go to. Chicago BBQ is probably a tale of two cities now as you have the traditional south/west spots, but now you also got a grouping of north side joints that’s been getting exposure and praise.

Truth be told, I’d love to visit Kansas City one day and try Gates (Tech N9ne did an entire song/album centered around his love for that place) and Jack Stack

Where the hell are people getting good BBQ from in NYC?

BBQs is decent, but not nearly as good as it used to be.

you tried I-57 ??

I’m not willing to say we number 2 but there are some popular bbq pit shops in the chi

I-57, Lems, curts used to be poppin til he wasn’t paying his taxes and the irs snatched his shyt, (you can still buy his “boss sauce” in jewel which was what made his food so damn good),Leon’s and a few others, but typically you would pick one and stick with it, I’m an I-57 guy, they rib tips and hot links and sauce are gawdly. It’s the one thing i miss about the crib
You mean "I wait at least 57 minutes for my order"

Not surprising, with all those southern transplants having travelled there for a century and established themselves.

Chicago BBQ restaurants are trash. If they talking about people personal BBQ then cool.
Even in this case you have to be on the lookout. Typically if a person already has a reputation for making good BBQ, then it's ok. However, there are many jokers out here who are disastrous when it comes to grilling, especially ribs. For instance, ribs should be cooked on a high rack and not too close to the charcoal. Instead they'll put a slab on one of these:

Ribs are "ready" in 20 minutes :mjlol:
