Chicago barbque is really Memphis barbque, so Chicago might be number two depending on if you hit the right spots on the West and South Sides. Otherwise most of those spots are straight up trash.

I don't know why list individual cities for barbque. They should just circle the southern states and say if you want good barbque then go there and find country Black people. They'll hook you up.

edit: I just noticed this list is mad by more White people rating barbque. They probably were looking for a mayonnaise based sauce.

you from Chicago?

you tried I-57 ??

I’m not willing to say we number 2 but there are some popular bbq pit shops in the chi

I-57, Lems, curts used to be poppin til he wasn’t paying his taxes and the irs snatched his shyt, (you can still buy his “boss sauce” in jewel which was what made his food so damn good),Leon’s and a few others, but typically you would pick one and stick with it, I’m an I-57 guy, they rib tips and hot links and sauce are gawdly. It’s the one thing i miss about the crib
57 is mostly sauce . Tips can be extreme hit or miss.

Try them joints without sauce & you’ll see.

Lems without sauce is pretty good . They sauce is light tho

As far as tenderness Lems>>>>>57

Uncle Johns is in the same boat as 57 imo as far as hit or miss

KC style is what most people probably think of with BBQ.

Thick sweet/tangy sauce on ribs with good sides.

Chicago having good spots makes sense just because of the black people from Memphis, Mississippi etc....though I wouldn't call it a "BBQ town."

New York on that list is :russ:.

Brooklyn Brisket N Beans?

Jackson Heights Jalapeno Sausage?

Bronx Burnt Ends?

The list is a joke as far as Raleigh is concerned. They must be talking about large cities only. People that live in NC would never put Raleigh in its top 5 or 10. We have gentrified BBQ here. True BBQ people put will always start with the Greenville, NC/Eastern NC or Lexington first.

The whole list is dumb as hell.

Like you said, the real best BBQ in the world is still being made in small eastern North Carolina, Southeastern Virginia, Texas, and Midwestern towns.

I can drive to Rocky Mount right now and get the absolute best BBQ on Earth from a converted trailer for $5.99 a plate with a 15 min wait.

Chicago BBQ restaurants are trash. If they talking about people personal BBQ then cool.
:whoa: Chicago got some decent BBQ spots service might be trash and it takes two hours to get your food especially I-57 and best barbecue ribs but the food is on point it’s not the 2nd best
BBQ spot in the Country but it’s not trash either

Chicago
They count surrounding areas in these lists and just outside of Chicago in nwi there’s a some banging bbq spots.

Just off the top of my head bid daddy’s in and Gary and Bombers in Munster can compete with any bbq spot

Theres also a breh with a mobile smoke truck that makes some fire shyt but I can’t remember his name.

Another smoke house in Kankakee I went to years ago had some fire shyt too. Can’t remember the name

For me i could eat 57 rib tips plain, but the sauce do make it way better, i hate that lems vinegar sauce, never tried them sauceless, but no lie there was this caterer that used to do jerked rib tips, my god they were so good
