You start off knowing some of your thoughts are irrational. what drives you nuts is you KNOW this but cannot control it.

Eventually the line between this and reality gets so blurred you can no longer tell what is real and what is not. You question every little part of your life and begin to break down.

Most people confuse depression with sadness, two completely different things.
