I remember when everyone was hyping up Back to Black. Then I heard "You Know I'm No Good" first on More Fish with Ghost. Her amazing talent still didn' catch on to me until I saw Rehab and her MTV special. I downloaded Back To Black the next day and was blown away. The first time hearing "Me & Mr. Jones, Back To Black, and Tears Dry Their Own" was like discovering all the classics I grew up on. I couldn't believe that VOICE was coming out of her.

I wasn't that shook up when she passed. Unfortunately, it was writing on the wall, even though she cleaned up for a bit. But, for some reason, hearing her on Cherry Wine makes me a little sad. Maybe, because I'm 28 and she was only 27 when she passed. Or, is just how soulful her retro voice hits your eardrum.
