There are a lot of facts here. Africans and asians leave their countries for the most part because they can get paid way more to ply their trades over here than back home. Given the fact I work around a bunch of immigrants(legal and illegal) I can tell you that most of the illegal immigrants come illegaly because there is no way the US would let them in legally given their backgrounds or history.

The coli aint gonna like to hear this, but the old saying 'even a broken clock is right twice a day' definitely applies to what Trump was saying about a lot of immigrants from Latin America. The people coming from these countries aren't exactly model citizens. And most hispanic immigration now comes from Venezuela(especially Venezuela), El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras now a days, hardly any of the hispanic immigrants come from Mexico anymore because conditions in Mexico ,while not perfect, have improved greatly over the past 20 years which is also why illegal immigration slowed down so much in the '10's and is picking back up now from the smaller countries.

Those people from smaller countries go to the US instead of staying in Mexico where they share a common language and somewhat culture and can get a job and have a decent life because 1. The US helps immigrants out greatly as long as they are willing to do the menial tasks in society and essentially work and be indentured servants and 2. Mexico flat out doesn't want them as you can see by the article. Most countries don't want you moving their unless you are bringing something with you, the US is one of the major notable exceptions to this. Trust me if the people immigrating to Mexico from the US were trailer park trash or a broke as fukk Mexico would put a stop to this yesterday, the people moving there are coming with money which is why they don't care. Long as you don't come with your hand out empty, but with some cash in it you can move there all day.

I feel like our timid approach with Latin American immigrants would be MUCH harsher on a bunch of less educated and poor Haitians and Africans...if they could come over in big enough numbers. The Latinos have a fear of anything left-leaning because of the governments back home, so they either don't vote or end up leaning more conservative since they think "conservative" = "jobs." Everyone lauds them for having family values and being religious...as a way to take an indirect shot at us.....but Muslims and southern Blacks seem a lot more religious in practice than 99% of the Latinos I've met. Feels like the goal is to let them come over and try to whiten as many of them up as possible so they can be sorta like the Irish and Italians....a buffer class against Blacks but then eventually gets absorbed into the white establishment once they hit certain educational and economic levels.

ain't no sorta. that 100% what is happening. the only exception are black Latinos that historically have been pushed into the black cateogry. the majority of Latinos will identify as white or will married into white society and whiteness will expand to include them just like what happened with Italians and Jews (see e.g. Miami Cubans and Tejanos)

How many of these governments can you mention? Because it is a historical fact that the US had its hand in undoing any stability in central and South America.

The republicans were selling weapons under the table to fund right wing death squads in Nicaragua. The CIA is directly implicated in overthrowing the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende and installing a hypercapitalistic dictator in Pinochet. Rather than waste any time with thoughts and prayers, the economy was seen as a game and is often lauded for the ‘Chilean miracle’ and used to justify the hoax of deregulation and laissez-faire capitalism.

Speaking of Mexico, I seem to remember American diplomats conspiring with brutal tyrants to oust the centrist government. Funny how when the students rose up against repression, the first thing the government did was massacre them. I wonder if that had anything to do with Mexico and by extension central and South America being within the sphere of US influence?
