The same dynamic exists here in the US to a degree people come from all over the globe, at times with little regard for the cultures and communities that they live, transforming neighborhoods, just trying to create the best life they can for themselves. Did people think the reverse was never going to happen?

I didn’t wanna say it, but there’s plenty of black neighborhoods in the US that have been transformed by Mexican immigration with little regard to the culture that previously lived there. Soul food spots turn into Taquerias with Spanish menu.
