3000 yards 27 tds his sr year in football. Won the Heisman/NC :banderas:

11/5 in basketball later that year :wow:

"I would have picked Charlie in a minute if he had just made up his mind," said John Becker, director of player personnel for the Rams. "I loved his mobility and athleticism. What killed him was his inability to make a decision."
Analysis : Sorry, Charlie: NFL Snubs Ward : NFL draft: Teams say Heisman Trophy winner couldn't make up his mind what sport to play, so he goes undrafted.

"The N.F.L. said, 'We don't know what Charlie Ward is going to do.' They tried to paint him as being indecisive," said Eugene Parker, Ward's agent. "All Charlie did was ask the N.F.L. to tell him whether he was going to be taken in the first round. When they wouldn't do that, he just said he was going to keep his options open. He never said he wouldn't play in the N.F.L. if he wasn't drafted in the first round."

"Once he got past the second round and into the third and fourth round nobody was going to waste a pick on him, because you didn't know if you'd have him," said Tampa Bay Coach Sam Wyche, who took Dilfer with the No. 6 pick in the first round. "You'd be competing for him with the Canadian Football League or the N.B.A. Nobody wanted to find out if he was just posturing about the N.B.A."

:wow:
"It boils down to the fact that most N.F.L. coaches, general managers and owners are scared of black quarterbacks or they just don't want a black man running their team, period," Williams said. "They're afraid if they play a black quarterback and he doesn't pan out, they're going to be ridiculed by their peers. People around the league will say, 'I told you that black guy couldn't play.'
"If they can get away with it, they're going to overlook the young black quarterback coming out of college. They'll find some excuse for not drafting him or they'll move him to another position. The only time they're going to take a black quarterback is when he's obviously the best player available or their team is desperate to win."

Homie made $34 mil over his NBA career (11 years). Trent Dilfer was the #6 pick that year and made $27 mil over 14 years. He may have had a better career than Dilfer, maybe not. But he made more over fewer years with less damage to his body. He made a good choice
So you're saying ward would have only been as good as bum ass trent dilfer? Wonderlic eh?

He was always so calm as a player. Crazy thing is, he was much more dominant a football player than he was a basketball player....but that same calm floor general shyt we saw in football worked for him in basketball. When he and Warrick played together :wow:

Heisman, 10 year nba career, drafted (multiple times?) in the MLB.

that shyt never gonna happen again in our lives
I disagree, often star players are great at other sports. Patrick Mahomes almost fits this bill. What i agree won't happen is for a player like that getting denied the opportunity to prove himself at the nfl level
