I mean
rappers rap about other people's stories all the time...and it's usually some nikka creating
about moving the coke they saw some other nikka move.
It ain't about losing "fans"...in fact it ain't about "fans" at all..
it's about being a human being. He has a song about suicide on his new album that has the suicide hot line in the title.
He ain't dead...he said he never even seriously thought about suicide before...is he exploiting people who are suicidal? Or does he realize that he has thousands of people who listen to him who might be deterred from hurting themselves if he he speaks for them through song?
You got all these people wondering why "hipsters" have Logic pushing 2k while all these nikkas with the so called "buzz" can't do that. It's because he has endeared himself to his fans by touching on things like suicide, rape, racial identity and other things that he either deals with or have affected his life.
These nikkas would have you believe that he's some kind of "plant" because he's selling more records than the somebody like Young Thug or one of the other idiots that the record labels put out in front to push whatever product...it seems "logical" that since they are more visible or more heard in the "streets" that none of these nikkas be in that the only way he could possibly be more popular is some kinda cac whatever.
Cole is the same way...while I acknowledge his skill, I truly believe that people love HIM more than they love the music. They support him as a person because he is honest and makes effort to connect beyond just finding a "lane" to sell records in. Rappers, hell artists period should take note.
