The 2021 Eagles went 9-8, had the 11th most efficient offense in the NFL, and made the playoffs with: 1) a rookie Sirianni as head coach, 2) a limited Hurts in his 1st season starting who rarely targeted the middle or left sides of the field, 3) no passing weapons outside of Goedert and a rookie Devonta, and 4) the 25th most efficient defense. Every one of those things will likely be better this season.
Hurts, Smith, and Sirianni have a year’s worth of experience behind them, Eagles added superstar AJ Brown and veteran Zach Pascal to the offense, and the defense got some big upgrades with the additions of Hassan Reddikk, Kyzir White, James Bradberry, Jordan Davis, and Nakobe Dean. The offensive line is still elite.
As far as I’m concerned, a 9-8 record and a wild card playoff appearance is our floor. I don’t expect a Super Bowl, but I do expect 10+ wins, a divisional round playoff appearance, and for the Eagles to seriously challenge for the NFC East division title this time around. That should all be perfectly doable.
