Theyll come up short. Miami got the wings to defend them but Bos has no answer for Bam. This is why not trading for Turner made 0 sense

Bam's value is in def & passing, not scoring

I like Boston over Miami next season if Kemba is healthy. I know Kemba is trash on def, but Dragic having a repeat performance like he did against them in Sept is unlikely. Kemba will be able to hide on def against Avery Bradley too.

the margin between the teams is not wide but I do like Boston better. Tatum is a better player than Jimmy, and he'll make that clear this season. If Tristan improves their rebounding, which I think he will, they'll be in the ECF again.

Boston not getting turner due to trader Danny's greed is a major fail. That's gonna bite them in the ass. Thompson helps but he will clog up the lane on offense

If Boston is committed to Tatum at the 4, it won't matter (Tristan clogging up the lane).

While I definitely agree that yes on paper, Ainge made a mistake passing on the Turner deal. I also don’t think that was the be all, end all for the Celtics Finals contention hopes. Bam straight shytted on them in that series. But at the same time, they played 6 games: They won two, lost one in OT and lost two others in the final minute. Even in the double digit loss in G6, they were down by 2 heading into the 4th. Point is, they were in every game. So I’m not sure why people are acting like the Heat just completely ran them off the court and there’s this large mountain to overcome. Truthfully, if Tatum or Kemba had played at the level they’re capable of, they would’ve won regardless of what Bam did.

The point is: Yes, on paper it should’ve been a no-brainer deal. It would’ve made the team better. But it also isn’t the only route for the Celtics to improve on their finish from last season.
