If he gets lumped in with fifteen other people like DoFP rather than his own movie I don't think it'll be as great as it could be. Gambit needs his own movie to shine.

but ummm you have to give actors a chance to portray characters before you dismiss the casting...I would hope they at least saw an audition and saw Gambit in the guy and it wasn't just a call his manager and set up the deal because they needed an extra name for marketing purposes

The fact that he grew up around the Mississippi Delta helps immensely and he has star power. It's actually a pretty good casting win for fans and the studios the more I think about it in that aspect.

Gambit was best portrayed when Jim Lee drew him and Chris Claremont was writing. That's how he should be in his movies.

Tatum is meh. Not really a big fan. He's looks like a meathead, which Gambit isn't really about.

Should have gotten Benedict Cumberbatch to play him. He looked the part on Star Trek INto the Darkness.

When he took out the Cleons on his own is reminiscent of how Gambit fights.
