Atlanta's a great place to set roots and thrive if you can hustle and build.

Atlanta's a horrible place for broke breh's and brehette's , people trying to run away from their problems, people looking to only experience the night life and people that are just around to take and not contribute.

The thread isn’t about that though. It’s about the wealth GAP. The idea is that the gap would be smaller, not that it wouldn’t exist or that there would be more well off black people than white people. Atlanta is not majority black, nor is the metro Atlanta area.

As someone who lives in the metro area, I know zero black people who I worked with who actually live in the city. Half of my white coworkers live in the city.
And yet still, white wealth severely out paces Black wealth in those areas

Data?

I’d still be curious to know by how much, but I’ve never seen that breakdown. Also, when you say “severely”, are you referring to being significantly larger, comparatively, than in other large metro areas or just what you personally consider too large a gap regardless of other areas?

Looking at the paper it’s basically renters vs home owners.

28 thousand in assets minus debt. If you are upside down on a nice car and rent a big apartment and stunt your 50k won’t enable you to get wealthy

Rather than owning a condo

So you think wealth gap isn’t high in the SUBURBS?

I don’t think any rapper lives in their city limits anywhere
I’m talking about rappers that come from the inner city of Atlanta…that rise from the trap to superstardom really from the city.

A lot of the most popping rappers now and historically from metro or are transplants.

FWIW, two of the handful of counties in the country where blacks have higher median income than whites are in metro Atlanta.

The disparity is true for the city of Atlanta and surrounding suburbs. It is a black city owned and controlled by white people.

Yes, there are black people doing their thing here. However, it is not the majority unfortunately.
