I get the argument of how he should have done better, read more, taken more time, etc...
but what leverage did this kid have, at the time anyway, to sign a BETTER deal than whatever he has now?
its not like the kid was a proven successful independent with an engaged, cult-like fan base. he basically paid to go viral, and any buzz around him was flash-in-the-pan, novelty based. word of mouth spread that he was a rapping human meme, and people clicked play to see what was so funny. he was lucky to parlay that into a legitimate deal
its not like he is a one of a kind talent adding something revolutionary new to the game. people like this are exactly the types you'd expect to sign a shytty deal...
and on top of that, outside of the number of people involved, we dont even know if his deal is actually bad. hes lucky anyone is interested at all and lucky to have finessed the internet and general public into listening. hes playing with house money, basically
