I've read that the Mexican military actually had a VERY high kill death ratio against the cartels, though that may have changed with their new president.

Was this mostly the police they were taking out or soldiers too?

The marina/army picked up Ovideo Guzman, who was indicted in Washington DC earlier this year after his father's conviction in Brooklyn. The gunmen tried to get him back, setting fire to trucks and causing blockades across Culiacan, which ironically Drake shouted out a few months back in Gold Bottles.

Hijo de El Chapo, Ovidio Guzmán, es detenido en Culiacán

There has never been a gunfight like this in Culiacan, but it is extremely common across Mexico, I guess it is Guzman's fathers fame that has sent this across Twitter and Instagram, and US media reports. There have been gunfights like this for years in Mexico, mostly in Reynosa, Matamoros, Guadalajara.

"Sipping hornitos in Culiacan"

I really doubt Drake has been there, but I have,

Lol...chicago is wild but them nikkas know not to bring smoke to 12..mexico da cartels police the police..lol you gotta be crazy to vacation or visit Mexico...

Police here got gear on standby better than the Mexican military.

But yeah not going to Mexico any time this millennium.

On second note, they should have just gave him one and forget the release. Don't know what that government is doing but caving like this is not a good look.

Wall or not As long as Americans need their drugs there are going to be Cartels and violence in Central/South America :manny:

Panama and Costa Rica don't have this level of violence. Nor do most South American countries

And if the cartels couldn't make money selling drugs anymore, I have to imagine they would just move on to extortion like the gangs in El Salvador
