How do the two correlate? Black women are the least likely to be profiled in missing cases nationally, but they are more likely to be snatched and trafficked than the women who get the attention of the press. Why would advocates who want to highlight that problem be obligated to talk now? This case hurts an already marginalized group and we still don't know all of the facts. Advocates like Mallory did nothing wrong. Are you suggesting they shouldn't advocate for Black women? Because someone should. And it would be irresponsible to condemn this woman right now because NONE of us know what actually happened, so speaking too soon will make anyone look foolish.

It's not though. Thats how everybody should have known it was fake. Nobody who was anybody showed up or said anything about it. They read the facts of the story, probably talked to some of their folks on the ground and decided to leave this one alone.

I have worked in journalism for many years and you'd be surprised how often reporters get it wrong when stories go national. It will always be a small seemingly insignificant detail that they will make a mistake with. It will be small enough that it doesn't really matter as it had nothing to do with the story but it used to drive me crazy.

Exactly. I started my career as a newspaper reporter so I know what you're talking about. I covered some crazy stuff that happened out near Virginia Tech which would get picked up all over the world since that's where the mass shooting took place. I'd lose my mind if a story with my byline that everyone was reading had incorrect details like that.

I have to go to a wedding at 2:30


I was initially happy because even tho wed is a weird day for a wedding I am glad I I did not have to waste a precious weekend day on it
