with that fact alone.. common sense would tell you most of the earliest slaves were from BOTH Africa & the Caribbeans.. it says in your article, Duke University was funded by a plantation in the Carribeans.. you think it was all African slaves down there on that plantation being "seasoned"..

Yes - it does. For a couple of reasons -- manly because those from Caribbean were usually directly from Africa -- and were not 1-3 generations deep like those enslaved in America.
Therefore - they rebelled -- and had nothing to stop them from being causing an uproar and fighting. Those already here who were already 1-2 generations enslaved here - had family, children and friends they didn't want to see killed or sold away from starting a revolt. That was the main reason most were very cautious about when and if they decided to runaway.
