I rock with everyone involved, Larry being my most played artist of 2019. Overall tho, so far I feel like it lacks synergy. Sounds like they just laid verses and not really worked on the songs together, but that’s only after two listens so far. Really impressed by HBK. Haven’t heard much from him in a long time, but he really came through on this. Hate that it’s cold and gloomy right now. Would like to see how this vibes in some good weather while riding around.

That's exactly how I felt at first..then it grew on me...

HBK def was the standout from all 3 on this tape.

I'm still not sold on Larry June on the mic tho, Pay and HBK made this listenable from a emcee standpoint, they can spit.

I like June alot not taking anything away from him......But he's a better song maker than feature artist and I had a feeling it would show on this project next to Pay and HBK.

Intro is a strong star, that breezy G Funk style production is very 90's, but not dated, June had a San Diego shoutout, and Payroll sounds as smooth and confident as ever. This is promising.

Very strong project, easily comparable to Big Bossin Vol. 2, sometimes June and especially HBK were a little grating, HBK hits cliches too much, and June's delivery was too lazy and slow, and lacked the narrative that Payroll has.

No one does hustler music like Payroll, it's adult and reflective, grounded and reflective. I can't listen to a lot of other trap or hustler music, it's too gaudy, ignorant, and corrosive. Payroll manages to be positive, while realistic about the life. Him and Gates are the two best dope boy rappers of the new era. Gotti hasn't put out a solid project in about 3 years, but he has a place too.

This is why a lot of us gravitate towards Larry June. On his solos albums, most of his content revolves around being a father, paying bills on time, eating organic, and spending time outdoors. The other half is peeling bytches, cars (new school and old school muscle), and just staying on his p&q’s. He balances the two really well. On his IG, he often posts pics of him riding his bike and has even thrown together community rides with his fans. He really embodies the bay area's tradition of being an independent artist and has a wide range of merchandise, including Larry June active wear, grocery totes, mason jars, aprons, shoe collabs, and even his own branded orange juice. Him and Payroll are really filling a lane as certified h̶u̶s̶t̶l̶e̶r̶s̶ businessmen with knockin ass responsibility raps that the game has been missing for way too long. He's an acquired taste though, and I'd say Out The Trunk and Mr Midnight are his most easily digestable albums for folks trying to see what he's all about.
