She's right. I've said it a billion times but Atlantic is terrible for rappers. They sat on XO Tour Life, an obvious hit that was blowing up online, and didn't give it a push until it was already a hit. Likewise they didn't work Bodak Yellow until it had been dominating online for months.

There is no "machine" or "button" that makes people stars in music. If you don't have a hit record it doesn't matter what the label does.

I don't know how you can say her career was bought when had been slowly grinding and there's history of it. It's not like Bodak Yellow is her first song. Everything she did up to it was laying ground work. Mix in people being tired of Nicki's gimmicks and you have the recipe for a new female star.

Basically this

:russ: @ Bodak Yellow being "undeniable" despite it being a 1:1 rip off of a middling hit by Kodak that peaked at 97 on the charts a year before cardi's version blew up... It was a perfect storm for her that worked with everything else she had going on... But ain't a damn thing at all undeniable bout Bodak Yellow on it's merits as a song that makes it an obvious smash hit... They give that same exact song to Remy or some random other female rapper and that shyt comes and goes

Only on the coli is the word out of a rappers mouth not good enough. You nikkas just say stuff trying to look cool and end up looking stupid.

Did I miss something? You're the one discrediting the word out of a rappers mouth and you looking all types of wrong.

You was hype to drop that story but not so hype to clarify the kendrick shyt tho :sas2:#sameenergy

You can't say you hate the conditions that you claimed created cardi and at the same time say you rock with her music. It makes you look loike a clown. I keep pointing this out to you and you keep doubling down on it. I'm guessing you like looking like an idiot so I'm going to let you keep doing it on your own though. I'm done :mjlol:

I said I don't hate her and liked a song, you jumped to I rock with her music. :skip:You can yell and stomp the shyt as much as you want but that cognitive dissonance is yours alone my dude. I didn't have to play stupid and obtuse to dismantle your arguments:umad:
.
Still waiting on you to clarify the Kendrick plant shyt tho.

Cardi B is an example of how a 360 deal can work wonders for an artist. You can name a ton of things that she's done that wouldn't have been possible without money & serious music industry connections. There is a lot of money to be made off of being a public figure nowadays.

Naturally she's going to be sensitive to these types of comments, because she knows there is a lot of truth.

Her career was bought. The Breakfast Club and 105 in general talking about her and playing her music nonstop is just one example of Atlantic payola

I dont think ive ever seen an artist NOT get shytted on or disliked for their craft or shyt theyve done/said. Something at least.

This no talent having reality tv show star out here getting 100% all that love and support from the industry cats & other artists while other talented ppl, before & during her time, getting shytted on left & right especially on the net.

That should tell yall something.

Atlantic or whoever the parent company is definitely has the machine behind her. Probably
because she was on one of Viacoms tv shows/has a 360 deal & shyt like that.

Something thats in favor to the majors.

ummmm what?

- Buzz has nothing to do with whether someone is a plant
- The battle rapping is in the context of him "grinding" before becoming a star.

Mind you, it took less projects for Cardi to reach the mainstream than chance. But go on and tell me how he's the most blatant plant

:what:

you don't get it.

EVERYBODY GRINDS. even the eventual plants.
nobody just wakes up and says "I wanna be a rapper", and is then magically signed to a label.
everybody battles. you would be making a point if you said that he owned the school cyphers or was known for battling in the streets. lol. dude wasn't even buzzing in Chicago at any point.

cardi b blew up after less attempts than chance, because shes actually popular.

her blowing up was actually organic. its just the ridiculous push that came afterwards that is fughazi.

Funny, when people have legitimate complaints they are labelled as trolls. Cardi B isn't very good, no way in the 80s or 90s or even early 00s she would have got signed

:mjlol:

Why do nikkas love to tell this lie over and over... like a bunch of completely subpar MFs weren't gettin' signed in every decade you named. When people say this, I figure a) they weren't there or b) have convieniently blocked out every wack-ass nikka that was out in order to only remember the ones who were dope.
