It is a combination of things.
Brie is kinda bland.
The casual movie fan doesn't really know much about Captain Marvel. They are just being told that she is the key to it all. She has everything lined up for her. The MCU stimulus package. Infinity War promo at the end.
Seems like Marvel comic diehards would prefer to see other female characters given the huge platform?
Besides, maybe people are excited to see the real Captain Marvel movie.
Kinda strange. this Captain Marvel movie lacks padding, and the other Captain Marvel movie has extra padding.
Either way, MCU will probably do close to a billion or more with this movie. They print money right now.
If anything, Marvel's track record of casting the right actors for their leads is pretty impeccable.
