I wouldn't say this movie was trash but it was pretty average. I didn't like brie in the movie. Sam has the highlight for me.
it was the timing of it. I saw it again today.
Honestly, the reason why people wasn’t feeling it because.
1. it dropped after infinity war
2. it felt like a phase 1 movie
3. Danvers story arc was crammed into one movie.
Feige said this when talking about Danvers possibly being in AOU.
"[Captain Marvel] was in a draft. But to me, it would have done that character a disservice, to meet her fully formed, in a costume and part of the Avengers already when 99% of the audience would go, 'Who is that?' It’s just not the way we’ve done it before...
but that’s kinda what they did with this movie. She had her powers already. There was no real buildup. I think at that point, they didn’t really care tho. They really wanted to introduce the Skrulls because of their long term role in the MCU and just like Captain America, they could always make up for it with the Sequel.
