I was telling my friends how genius it is the way they handled this movie. I think Marvel was extremely shaky on how this movie would perform. So what better way to get people interested than to reference her in the IW post credit scene. And like you said to release it so close to Endgame it somewhat forces people to go see it in theaters out of fear of being clueless about how she ties into Endgame. Hell I just finally saw it last night for that reason and another friend of mine gave me the same reason for him going to see it. If it wasn't so close to Endgame dropping I would've just waited for it hit DVD.

As far as the movie itself it was aight. Not one I'd rush to see again. I liked Brie Larson's character, liked the more light hearted Nick Fury. Didn't care too much about the story overall and it seemed obvious as fukk that the guy helping her was going to be the villain. I liked the reveal of her powers. I was getting mad as fukk that they weren't really explaining what her powers actually were for so long or what makes her so special but once it was revealed I was cool with it.

Box Office: 'Captain Marvel' Tops 'Suicide Squad' And 'Deadpool 2'

Looking at this article and comparing it to the other juggernauts in the same weight class is thought provoking. Definitely not a fluff piece as it compares domestic vs international status. :BiggumsSpeculation:

I'm not gonna come in and say this is a flop or some shyt, but this was an average movie if I'm being honest

Its story was better than Aquamans, but I preferred the action and visuals there

I finally got to see this. I'm not trying to argue. My opinion was it was just OK, bordering on boring. Take out Sam Jackson and I would say it is a 2 out of 5. Again this is just my opinion..it checks all the right boxes but IMHO will not be remembered in a couple of years.
What I don't understand is why do you hire an Academy award winning actress and give her this bland script? She low key funny, but almost any other skinny actresses could have played this role. I would argue her black friend was more interesting in this than her character.
