just saw it, I liked it. Gave it a 8/10, brie lawson was meh and samuel l jackson was lil too quirky for his younger self, but overall I liked it. Brie Lawson just doesn't have that star potential to sell a movie of this magnitude yet.

You should have known that the Marvel properties will put people in the seats. They always do. Captain Marvel doing these numbers though.. it's possibly going to be the biggest origin film ever behind Black Panther.

I was telling my friends how genius it is the way they handled this movie. I think Marvel was extremely shaky on how this movie would perform. So what better way to get people interested than to reference her in the IW post credit scene. And like you said to release it so close to Endgame it somewhat forces people to go see it in theaters out of fear of being clueless about how she ties into Endgame. Hell I just finally saw it last night for that reason and another friend of mine gave me the same reason for him going to see it. If it wasn't so close to Endgame dropping I would've just waited for it hit DVD.
As far as the movie itself it was aight. Not one I'd rush to see again. I liked Brie Larson's character, liked the more light hearted Nick Fury. Didn't care too much about the story overall and it seemed obvious as fukk that the guy helping her was going to be the villain. I liked the reveal of her powers. I was getting mad as fukk that they weren't really explaining what her powers actually were for so long or what makes her so special but once it was revealed I was cool with it.

So I’m over here at work..... listening to Comics Explained on YT.
And just listened to dude break down Monica Rambeau. And it just donned on me how stupid it was for certain folks to have been over here whining about “Bu Bu Bu Bu she’s a girl in the movie, Marvel did her wrong”
This movie takes place in the 90s, the main MCU timeline is current like 2019 if not slightly more in the future.
Why the fukk would some if y’all want her to be a wasted as grown up in say 93 when she could really cook in the sequels?
Like it may work for these companies to get 40 and 50 year olds men to play these roles now, but I’m sorry I don’t think it would be a good to get an older actress to play her now and then hope to have her repeat that job over the next say 10 years either. Deaging her this movie or trynna figure out to explain how she didn’t age from 93 to now and she hasn’t received her power yet.
Some of y’all was arguing and mad for the sake of arguing and being mad
