Good movie. They succeeded in telling a origin story that explains who she is and why she is so important. It wasn’t directly connected but still felt relevant with everything going on.

Also if it makes you feel better, a lot of folks that praised the Aquaman man’s Billy box office for years been down playing the IM3 and A2 Billy box offices.

I waited until I saw it again to say how I felt about the movie. I didn’t love it or hate it. It was just alright. I do want to see how she’s handled by the Russo Brothers in Endgame. It feels like they played it safe with her. She spent six years thinking that she was a Kree soldier. The Kree are by nature colonialists, who believe they are the master race. For someone who has been gaslighted as brainwashed for six years, I didn’t get that vibe from her. That’s not saying that she has to be an extremist like Ronan, but being more on code, and having more of a bond with her Star Force teammates, would have made the revelation of what Yon-Rogg did have more of an impact. There was no nuance to it.

Which brings me to Mar-Vell. I didn’t like that shyt. I don’t see the reason for the gender bending other than they didn’t want a man to be the one who gave her a chance when the government said no, and is also responsible for her powers.

So while I did enjoy it, it felt more like a phase one movie. It’s definitely doesn’t even begin to be on par with Black Panther. I enjoyed the supporting cast way more than Carol. And again, I think it’s because they were playing it safe with her. So I’m interested to see what is done in the sequel.

She signed a 7 movie contract, and this is going to make at least $800 million. It's getting a sequel. Plus for rights to the name they have to. And even though I have issues with the movie, "I still enjoyed it" I can see how the next movie could be on some The Winter Soldier shyt. Because I wasn't totally feeling Captain America after The First Avenger, but TWS changed everything for me.

Even Antman been in 3 so far and got like 2 more to go atleast.

Unless you’re a minor MINOR character, they gonna sign you to atleast a trilogy
