Saw this friday night with my girl. Her ass was checked within the first 15 mins some dude 2 rows back was snoring too loud af an hour in.


It was a decent popcorn flick. I like the plot twist and the way mcu flips some of these comic storylines on their head with a humanizing moral end like cap civil war.

Action scenes were fun especially when her full power was unleashed. Carol herself was aight. MCU humor balanced her more than anything and brie's preformance was as wooden as her running.

Sam L did his thing and the cat was lame. Not really sure how this de-aging is supposed to work, maybe sam just a ugly mf skrull boss was lowkey mvp for me dude was hilarious

The MCU connection was mostly just easter eggs, I lowkey feel finessed for seeing this. Everyone expected this movie to show some path to getting everyone who died back and a path to beating thanos. Instead it was just bringing her in which is a bad omen for some lame superman shyt being the answer for Endgame.

This was lowkey marketed as the movie you have to see for Endgame and it wasnt that at all. My girl feels vindicated for sleeping through it and waking up near the credits. Dude in the uber back asked us if we really need to see it for avengers and we said no. Not even the credit scene was worth it.

On its own standalone merits though the movie was decent. the plot of how carols memories unravel was somewhat of a chore but the twists, humor and great pacing made it nice.

I still thing they should have got a stern looking white broad for Carol. Brie has a square jaw and a stone face but she doesnt quite do it for me as military hardass

shyt was a typical first marvel film. Meaning it was a fun film with decent action and funny lines and a weak villian. Enjoyable but not likely to ever watch again.

You Marvel weirdos are strange. But anyway, caught up to the part where I fell asleep on firestick and still feel the same way. Decent, gotta give Skrull boss his own stand all. dude funny af. But saw it, probably never watching again

Yeah my only thing was she really didnt even struggle she just ran through everyone but granted we all prepared ourselves for that lol

Yeah, that killed the tension, which is vital for a film that's going to have multiple fight scenes. Her Power gap overshadowed everyone except Ronan, who retreated.

I was legit hoping to get at least a short battle between those 2 before Ronan got called back to Kree space due to some emergency or order from the Supreme Intelligence. With that you can preserve Ronan for the timeline while actually letting Carol rip against someone who won't die by Cosmic Pimp Slap.

As @MartyMcFly said, her Power doesn't cancel out her character progression though, which takes a deft hand in writing the script. She was everything the Kree are: emotionless, arrogant, & cold. In plain terms, she's the 1 white dude in the crew that tries too hard, which just makes it more obvious he doesn't fit.

Carol, Fury, Talos, Maria, & ultimately Monica cracked that, which kept this movie from becoming cliche.
