He just told you, the Skrulls are the threat.

Judging by the trailer the Skrulls were on Earth in the 90's....which is obviously a bad thing, since they'd want to conquer it.

Outside of that, the movie seems to be about the Kree/Skrull war. And (I'm guessing) how she eventually realizes that the Kree aren't all good, since Ronan is in it. And he was clearly nuts in "GOTG".

I don't even think the trailer is all that but the story arc is pretty straight forward.

Fred.
I'm looking at this from the average movie goer or even the average MCU fan. How do we know Skrulls want to conquer earth? They seem to be living peacefully from the trailer.

All i got is Nicky Fury literally saying Skrulls are bad guys and Kree are Hero Warriors and he doesn't even seem to believe it.

Not why the Skrulls are bad or even why the Kree are good. No motives on either side.

Trailer doesn't really show Earth in peril. Skrulls don't seem to be doing much other than pretending to be old ladies.

Not sure why I should care whats going on in this trailer.

:snoop:The Skrull, they are described as bad. What more information are you looking for? You want the layout and design of all their plans in a trailer? Why?!
Maybe the actual threat they pose to the main character or even the movie.

Fam no offense but you're completely out of touch with reality.

All this comic nerd, "what's going on in this trailer, I don't understand?" shyt has been mainstream at least since the first Avengers movie. When major media outlets were explaining who Thanos is.

CNN has done in depth articles about the MCU time line and how all the movies link together, who characters are, etc.

CNN, for Christ sake.

Read this before you see Avengers. You’re welcome.

If we're being all the way real nerd shyt been mainstream since the "LOTR" trilogy.

So if you watch this trailer in a vacuum....yeah, ok. But nobody does that any more. Literally 5 minutes after any one of these trailers drop, there is articles explaining who the characters are, what their motivations are, etc.

Captain Marvel: Who are the villains? Who are the Skrulls?
Who are the Skrulls from Captain Marvel and will they be in Avengers 4?

etc etc etc.

You think "Infinity War" did 2 billy off comic nerds? Of course not. The vast majority of those people seen a few movies....peeped the hype....wanted to be part of a pop culture moment so they crammed and read articles, interviews, and Wiki links....then went and seen the movie.

So....yeah. The average movie goer is gonna know what's going on. It's how "GOTG" went from being a Z tier team to making $863 million.

She's only going to go Binary at the end of the film and it wont be for long, Marvel somehow can't do any "super saiyan" mode right, and or for more than a minute it seems. They tried with Thor, but that was laughable, They're better at showing how strong a character is, with sheer practical strength, basically any Captain America scene. Give them special powers, and Marvel directors/writers are lost. Still gotta respect the GOAT Toriyama, for having scenes of Super Saiyans just flexing on everyone before the fighting actually happens, even then, he finds a way to make the characters flex.....that's ultimately the problem, very few directors understanding splash pages even fewer how to let the character stunt on others.

Completely disagree with you on that one.

And saying GOTG made 800 million because people went to wikipedia and read up about them is laughable. The movie was good, unique and funny. Period. The magic of GoTG is that you didn't need to know shyt about them to enjoy the movie.

I'm just glad we get to see her rocking the (helmet) Mohawk, I've always liked that look

I always thought that design was dope too and can’t front. When I finally see her wear that, it got me excited.

Since she’s “soooooooooo powerful”:troll:

I thought she was gonna be out in space flying with no mask or helmet like she Superman or Green Lantern:skip:

So when this movie makes a ridiculous amount of money despite you being confused by the trailer....then what?

You can disagree with what I'm saying but the fact of the matter is there's hundreds of articles about obscure comic characters, places, arcs, etc. on virtually every mainstream site on the internet. You think those exist for no reason....or maybe they keep popping up to help the average movie goer fill in the blanks between movies?:jbhmm:

And I never said "GOTG" did those numbers because of Wikipedia....what? :dahell:

I said the MCU was able to tap into pop culture and a wide variety of demographics because info that was considered "nerd shyt" 20 years ago is now mainstream.

I seen it first hand, in the lobby of the theater after "GOTG", people discussing who Ronan is, who the Kree are, what role Thanos will play, etc.

Not nerds. Not comic geeks. Literally everyone from soccer moms to old people to hipsters to motherfukkers with tattoos all over their faces. We aren't talking about the same things....you're talking about people enjoying the movie....I'm talking about people being engaged enough to want to research shyt outside of watching a trailer. Which again, is easy as ABC due to the internet.
