bruh, nobody cared about the First Avenger. it gets no replay. The Winter Soldier is where the character took off.

Just like Thor. it took the 3rd movie for Marvel to get the character right on the big screen.

You aint even trying to give the character a chance. At least see the movie first (it doesn't matter if its in theaters or on your laptop).

At the end of the day, it seems like you're looking for reasons not to like the character. This thread is filled with people criticizing how she looks. She's not sexy enough or her ass is flat.

I'm not defending The First Avenger as a film. Just Chris Evans' performance. Like....I don't know how to make that any more clear. TFA wasn't Marvel's most popular movie or even the most popular Cap movie. People still liked the guy as the character if they saw the film. Point blank.

Sorry, but I'm not going to say I liked this trailer cause "maybe she'll be a better character in the 3rd movie?" That doesn't make any sense. You're basically arguing against the idea of criticizing the trailer at all at that point.

I already admitted I don't like Captain Marvel. However, I also don't like Iron Man and I love those movies. I came into this wanting Marvel Studios to change my mind. They haven't so far. It is what it is. I'll catch this one on Netflix maybe.

That's because the first trailer was a teaser.

A teaser can still be good and captivate you. I remember The Winter Solider's teaser trailer. It was Cap chasing Bucky down in his apartment. When Cap finally catches Bucky, he throws his shield an Bucky catches it with one hand. The tone of that teaser was great and the moment Bucky catches that shield you knew shyt was gonna be real. It was short, only like 1:15 mins long, but was still good enough to get me hype.

Hell, I'm not on Twitter like that but I expect there's already a thousand chicks talking about how they wanna 'glow up' like Captain Marvel after the end of that trailer.

Side-note: the trailer is okay, Larson definitely seems a bit off but from this trailer it seems the Kree have brainwashed her and turned her into a cold, detached warrior so it might be intentional, but I feel she's playing it not as detached but as bored.

I was saying Chris Evans gave a good performance as Captain America from the start and that Brie Larson's performance, thus far, is nothing special in comparison. You're trying to turn my argument into this massive defense for the The First Avenger or me saying the movie was huge when I've already conceded that the movie was average overall and didn't do as well as the sequels. Like, I'm literally agreeing with you on those points and keep trying to argue them lol.

To be real breh, there’s no way to prove what I said is correct. It seems like the most likely answer because of the setup of the trailer. But when I on what you said, that also makes a lot of sense.

Even though Winter Soldier was Cap's breakout, The First Avenger wasn't Thor 1 or 2 levels. Steve has the best arc in the MCU by far so by default that movie was great because it laid the foundation for everything the Cap character became and stood for in Winter Soldier and Civil War. I can understand the flak it gets because no one wants to see a cheesy WW2 period flick but it's a deeper film than that and outside of the 3rd act, well written and developed. You don't understand the Cap character from WS/CW as well without watching TFA first. And Peggy was easily the best female sidekick/love interest in the MCU and I don't even know if anyone's touched her since

It was Joss Whedon's use of Cap in Avengers 1 and Age of Ultron that failed the character a little bit. He did nothing in Age of Ultron, and was un-inspiring and a buzzkill for the most part in A1 besides when he was laying field tactics in the battle
